Job summary

Affim is seeking an experienced backend engineer to plan, design, and own decisions for our AI Platform. You will contribute from design through production, partnering with security, infra, and product teams.

You will build gateways, runtimes, and evaluation services handling millions of user transactions, enforce identity, quotas, routing, and monitoring, and mentor teammates to raise coding and testing standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Experience with Python or Kotlin in production environments.
• Proficient with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with AI frameworks or LLM tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and own technical decisions for the AI Platform.
• Build gateway, runtime, and evaluation services at scale.
• Establish guardrails for identity, quotas, routing, and failover.
• Collaborate with security, infra, and product teams.
• Monitor systems and maintain on-call readiness.
• Set coding standards and share knowledge across teams.
• Leverage AI tools and workflows to improve team output.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices.
