Job summary

Oak Street Health, part of CVS Health, is seeking a Sr Software Engineer to own complex backend workstreams in a healthcare setting. You will design prompts with AI frameworks, lead technical decisions, and mentor engineers, delivering reliable, scalable services.

You will build file-ingestion pipelines in Databricks, own data models and integration contracts, and drive test coverage and observability to ensure production health.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building distributed backend systems in production.
• Proficiency building system prompts and utilizing AI frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB or comparable document stores.
• Track record of leading technical work across a team.
• Experience with cloud-native deployment (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design robust system prompts using LLM frameworks.
• Partner with product teams and business stakeholders to automate workflows.
• Design and implement robust file-ingestion pipelines using Databricks.
• Own a domain or service area end-to-end, including its data model and integration contracts.
• Lead code reviews, set technical standards, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
• Hold the team accountable for test coverage, observability, and the production health of the services you own.
