Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Coinbase Advisor team within the Consumer & Business group.

You will own backend services powering Coinbase Advisor and Strategies, and build integrations with trading APIs to ensure correct, auditable executions for millions of users. The role focuses on backend development for agentic trading with an emphasis on reliability, prompt engineering, and collaboration across product, design, and compliance to ship safe customer-facing

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong API design and distributed systems experience.
Proficiency in Go or a demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
Experience with production LLM or agentic systems.
Ability to take ambiguous projects from zero to production with sound judgment.
Responsible use of AI with human oversight to deliver business-friendly results.

Responsibilities

Own backend services powering Coinbase Advisor and Strategies from design to launch and operation.
Build integrations with Coinbase trading APIs so agent recommendations translate into correct execution.
Develop our agentic harness, including tool calling, orchestration, state, and recovery.
Shape agent behavior through prompts, evals, and conversation analysis with the advisor team.
Improve service reliability, latency, observability, and safeguards against duplicate actions.
Collaborate with frontend, product, trading infra, and legal/compliance to ship features within guardrails.
