Job summary

Pearson seeks a senior software engineer and technical leader to own and drive complex backend systems across a cloud-native, distributed architecture. You will lead architecture decisions, design scalable services, and collaborate with product, security, and operations teams to deliver reliable software at scale.

You will mentor engineers, promote best practices, ensure observability, and address technical debt while delivering new features and modernization efforts in a 24/7 production

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, operationalization, and production support of complex software systems.
• Build scalable, reliable backend services, distributed systems, event-driven apps, and stream-processing solutions.
• Own major engineering initiatives from discovery through delivery, rollout, and ongoing support.
• Balance new capabilities with modernization, debt reduction, reliability improvements, and maintenance of existing systems.
