Dimensional Fund Advisors is seeking a Senior Back-End Software Engineer to translate customers' goals into working software. You will develop automated configurations, model definitions, and calculation APIs within a broadly scoped ETL and data-engineering context.

This role emphasizes collaboration with subject-matter experts, front-end teams, and infrastructure teams to enable reliable, scalable systems across research, investments, sales, and marketing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with Python, Ruby, JavaScript, or equivalent dynamic languages.
• Experience with C#, Java, C/C++, Typescript, or equivalent static languages.
• Experience with data engineering, web/mobile application development, systems/security software development.

Responsibilities

• Understand users' needs and translate them into robust backend systems.
• Design and implement complex calculation engines, ETL pipelines, and APIs.
• Collaborate with SMEs across domains to deliver scalable solutions.
• Partner with frontend engineers on API design and integration.
• Contribute to software architecture and code reviews.
• Develop configurations and automations for testing, deployment, and infrastructure.
