Job summary

Dimensional Fund Advisors is seeking a Senior Python Engineer to join the Data Distribution team. You will architect and implement scalable data platforms and services that power research, portfolio management, trading, and analytics, while ensuring data quality and security.

You will collaborate with analysts, product owners, and IT to design robust data solutions, build high-performance pipelines, and advance CI/CD practices in a dynamic, flexible environment.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of programming in Python (open source) or equivalent.
• Proficiency in building RESTful APIs and web services.
• 4-5 years of SQL experience.
• Strong use of SOLID principles and Domain Driven Design.
• Experience with high performance and highly available data applications.
• Experience with automated testing and unit tests.
• Strong understanding of cyber security risks and building secure apps.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and waterfall software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver data technology solutions supporting research, portfolio management, trading, analytics and reporting.
• Design, develop, test, and deliver scalable data platform services.
• Collaborate with analysts, product owners and project managers on requirements and plans.
• Identify and implement data pipeline changes across ingestion, validation, transformation and delivery.
• Write unit/integration tests and maintain documentation and engineering wiki.
• Develop high-performance data-transfer tools and ensure data freshness and caching alignment.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and participate in code/design reviews.
• Provide production support and troubleshoot data systems.
