Role Overview

We are looking for Senior Back-End Software Engineer to join our team and translate our customers' goals into working software from automated configurations to model definitions, and calculation APIs.

What you might work on

• As a back-end engineer at Dimensional, you will have the opportunity to understand the users' needs and solve problems like complex calculation engines in an ETL pipeline, database design, API and microservice design and engineering.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts in a variety of areas to drive the success of our clients.
• Collaborate with front-end engineers on the design of solutions and APIs.
• Perform software and data architecture and design.
• Develop complex software solutions using back-end technologies.
• Demonstrate and mentor software engineering best practices and participate in code reviews.
• Develop configurations and automations to enable testing, infrastructure and deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years of software development experience in a professional and/or academic setting
• Experience with Python, Ruby, JavaScript, or equivalent dynamic languages
• Experience with C#, Java, C/C++, Typescript, or equivalent static languages
• Experience with any of the following: data engineering, web/mobile application development, systems/security software development

Preferred Competencies

• Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed
• Ability to write in English fluently and idiomatically
• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in engineering, computer science or other technical related field
• Experience with agile/scrum methodologies
• Financial services industry experience
• Experience with any of the following: Redis, Postgresql, MongoDB, SQLServer Airflow, Kafka, AWS, serverless/microservice architecture TDD, BDD, Numpy/Scipy/Pandas, React, Angular, Vue.js, Node, Ansible #LI-Remote

Work Model & Location

Most roles fit our office-first hybrid approach: We are together on our campuses Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and have the choice to work in the office or remotely, depending on what is best for that work day, on Mondays and Fridays. This approach maximizes in-person collaboration and interaction while simultaneously providing flexibility and applies to most roles globally with a few exceptions that require more or less time in the office.
