Job summary

Dimensional Fund Advisors seeks a Senior Python Engineer within the Data Distribution team to manage and enhance its enterprise investment data warehouse supporting Research, Portfolio Management, Trading and Analytics.

You will design, develop, and test scalable data services, expand data pipelines, and contribute to CI/CD practices while collaborating with analysts, product owners, and IT management to maximize the impact of new technologies.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of Python programming experience.
• Proficiency in building RESTful APIs and web services.
• 4-5 years of SQL experience.
• Proven track record of leveraging SOLID principles and Domain Driven Design.
• Experience with high performance and high availability data applications.
• Experience with automated acceptance testing and unit-tested code.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity risks and secure application design.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum and waterfall software development environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver data technology solutions for Research, Portfolio Management, Trading, Analytics and Reporting.
• Design, develop, test, and deliver data platform services with speed and quality.
• Collaborate with analysts, product owners, and project managers on user stories and plans.
• Advise IT management on technology capabilities and strategy for new tools.
• Identify and improve data pipelines, ingestion, validation, and delivery.
• Write unit/integration tests and maintain documentation.
• Develop scalable data-transfer toolsets between endpoints within SLAs.
• Focus on data consistency, refresh rates, and caching across interfaces.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines and participate in code/design reviews.
