Job summary

Dimensional Fund Advisors’ Investment Engineering team seeks a Senior Associate to support key initiatives in portfolio engineering. This software role covers design, implementation, and maintenance for the interface between portfolio managers and their portfolios.

The position involves building databases, schemas, APIs, processing services, schedules, and component code, with opportunities to mentor juniors in a collaborative, code-review driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Component based front-end experience (Angular, React, Vue, Svelte).
• Database experience, preferably with Microsoft Sql Server or similar.
• OOP experience with C#, Java, etc.
• Experience with Material design and Angular Material in particular.
• Experience working with large datasets, including computational code.
• Desire to continue learning about software and investment management.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Intellectual curiosity with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Understand user requests and translate them into concrete designs that meet user needs.
• Move designs to implementation, including databases, schemas, APIs, processing services, and front-end components.
• Write software in a collaborative environment, participate in code reviews and design sessions, and mentor junior team members.
• Participate in support triage to ensure system maintainability and reliability.
