Job summary

Fuze Health seeks a Senior Database Administrator to join the Technology Platform team, focused on the Hospice business unit. You will lead the AWS database modernization project, migrating SQL Server to RDS or upgrading on EC2, modernizing SSIS/SSRS, and optimizing costs while guiding the Hospice DBA team in cloud database operations.

You will establish monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery using AWS tools, and collaborate with DevOps on infrastructure automation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in database administration.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning, HA, DR.
• Hands-on with SQL Server upgrades and end-of-support migrations.
• SSIS/SSRS development and administration experience.
• Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup, migration, Multi-AZ.
• Experience with AWS-native ETL tools (DMS, Glue) or plan to modernize SSIS-based ETL.
• Database migration projects on-prem to AWS or EC2 to RDS.
• Strong backup/restore strategies and point-in-time recovery.

Responsibilities

• Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migrate to AWS RDS or upgrade on EC2.
• Migrate and maintain SSIS ETL/SSRS, consider AWS Glue/DMS re-platforming.
• Drive cost optimization: right-size, Reserved Instances, storage tiers.
• Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team on AWS database operations and best practices.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring with Datadog and CloudWatch.
• Design automated backup, restore, and disaster recovery using AWS Backup.
• Perform query optimization, indexing and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform-based automation.
• Ensure HITRUST/HIPAA/SOC2 compliance for database systems.
• Evaluate future PostgreSQL/Aurora modernization opportunities.
