Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in software or data engineering with a strong AWS focus.
• Experience architecting cloud data platform migrations in production environments.
• Track record of evaluating AWS data services to meet reporting needs.
• Experience delivering analytics solutions for non-technical users.
• Hands-on AWS data services: S3, Athena, Glue, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, OpenSearch, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch.
• Strong SQL to model relational queries over XML/JSON data.
• Experience with XML-heavy data stores and CI/CD with AWS tooling.
• Familiarity with BI tooling like QuickSight; proficiency in Git workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the next phase of healthcare data platform modernization.
• Migrate MSSQL XML object store to scalable AWS data architecture for SQL-based reporting.
• Evaluate AWS data strategy and storage options (S3+Athena, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, OpenSearch).
• Design reporting layer for SQL queries using familiar tooling.
• Architect migration path for XML data to AWS platform with partitioning strategies.
• Build and maintain AWS data catalog, schemas, and metadata management.
• Optimize query performance and cost across AWS services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into data models.
• Coordinate with C#/.NET back-end work for data flows from EDI pipelines.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild/CodeDeploy.
• Apply IaC with CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• Document architecture decisions and data dictionaries clearly.
