Qualifications

• 8+ years of software or data engineering with a strong AWS focus.
• Experience migrating cloud data platforms in production environments.
• Ability to select AWS data services to meet reporting needs.
• Experience delivering analytics solutions for non-technical users.
• Hands-on AWS data services: S3, Athena, Glue, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, OpenSearch, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch.
• Strong SQL and relational query design over XML/JSON.
• Experience with XML-heavy data stores and transforming XML at scale.
• Familiarity with BI tooling (QuickSight or similar).
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD tooling; IaC experience with CDK/CloudFormation/Terraform.
• Strong architecture communication to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead healthcare data platform modernization efforts.
• Evolve MSSQL XML object store to cloud-native AWS data architecture for SQL reporting.
• Evaluate AWS data strategies and storage architectures (S3+Athena, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, OpenSearch).
• Design reporting layers for business users to run relational SQL queries.
• Architect migration of XML object store data into AWS platform with optimal formats and partitioning.
• Maintain AWS data catalog, schemas, and metadata management for discoverability.
• Optimize query performance and cost across AWS services; tune patterns.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into data models and queries.
• Partner with back-end C#/.Net for data flow from EDI pipelines into the data layer.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS-native tooling and IaC practices with CDK/CloudFormation/Terraform.
• Document architecture decisions, data flows, and data dictionaries clearly.
