Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado is seeking a Senior Electrical Hardware Test Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test equipment for avionics hardware. You will build custom interface hardware, wire harnesses, and robust test systems to verify FPGA-based electronics and embedded avionics.

You will collaborate with Test Software, FPGA, and Electrical Design teams, supporting HIL and environmental testing while ensuring reliability and maintainability of production test assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years developing electrical test equipment or automated hardware tests.
• Experience designing mixed-signal circuits and PCB assemblies.
• Strong analog/digital design, signal integrity and power distribution knowledge.
• Experience integrating instrumentation into automated test systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain ATE/STE/EGSE for avionics.
• Create electrical interface hardware: conditioning circuits, switching, power.
• Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, and hardware documentation.
• Select and configure lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies).
• Collaborate with Test Software, FPGA, and Electrical Design engineers.
• Support HIL, environmental, and production testing activities.
• Troubleshoot hardware and hardware/software integration issues.
