Job summary

Ursa Major, based in Colorado, seeks a Senior Test Software Engineer to develop software for automated test equipment and HIL systems which verify FPGA-based electronics and avionics hardware across development and production stages.

The role collaborates with Electrical, FPGA, Flight Software, and Electrical Test Engineers to deliver scalable, reliable test solutions and improve product quality while reducing cycle time. Requires 5+ years of related experience and ITAR compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or CS field.
• 5+ years of experience with automated test systems.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop and lab automation.
• Proficiency in C#, Python, C++, LabVIEW.
• U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software for automated test equipment (ATE) and HIL systems.
• Control oscilloscopes, multimeters, generators, power supplies, loads, and other test equipment.
• Translate test requirements into automated software ensuring repeatable results.
• Develop reusable software architectures and frameworks for multiple products.
• Integrate software with avionics hardware and FPGA designs.
• Support hardware integration and production acceptance activities.
• Troubleshoot software and hardware integration issues; perform root-cause analysis.
• Create software documentation and CM processes; support version control.
