Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado is seeking a Senior Test Software Engineer to develop software powering automated test equipment for FPGA-based electronics and avionics hardware across development, qualification, and production.

You will translate engineering requirements into repeatable test procedures, build robust automation frameworks, and deliver scalable solutions that improve product quality and reduce cycle times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
• 5+ years in automated test systems, lab automation, or hardware integration.
• Proficiency in C#, Python, C++, LabVIEW.
• Experience with VISA, GPIB, USB, Ethernet/LXI, Serial, or PXI.
• Experience with automated test sequences, data acquisition, and reporting.
• US Person with ability to meet ITAR/EAR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software for automated test equipment (ATE) and HIL systems.
• Develop software to control lab instrumentation and automate test sequences.
• Translate test requirements into repeatable, traceable software solutions.
• Design reusable architectures and libraries for multiple products.
• Develop operator interfaces, data acquisition, analysis, logging, and reports.
• Integrate software with avionics hardware, FPGA designs, and embedded software.
• Support hardware integration, qualification, environmental, and production tests.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions; document software.
• Provide version control and configuration management; drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve test efficiency and quality.
