Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking an experienced Senior Test Software Engineer to build automated test systems for aerospace and defense applications. You will develop software powering ATE and HIL setups, integrating with FPGA/embedded hardware and external instrumentation.

Collaboration with ELEC/DIG teams will be essential to deliver scalable, reliable tests. The role emphasizes translating test requirements into automated software, creating robust architectures, and delivering efficient test procedures

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience developing software for automated test systems or hardware integration.
• Proficiency in C#/Python/C++/LabVIEW or similar.
• Experience interfacing with test instrumentation via VISA, GPIB, USB, Ethernet/LXI, Serial, or PXI.
• Experience with version control systems like Git or Azure DevOps.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• U.S. Person with ability to obtain ITAR/EAR clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software for automated test equipment (ATE) and HIL systems.
• Develop software to control laboratory instrumentation like oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and power supplies.
• Translate engineering test requirements into automated software that yields repeatable results.
• Create reusable software architectures and frameworks for multiple products.
• Develop interfaces, test sequencing, data acquisition, and report generation.
• Integrate software with avionics hardware, FPGA designs, embedded software, and external instrumentation.
• Support hardware integration, qualification, environmental, and production testing.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform root-cause analysis.
