Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in the United States is seeking an experienced Avionics Mechanical Design & Analysis Engineer III for Core Systems & Components. You will own ruggedized enclosures and mechanical systems from concept through flight release, collaborating with electrical, thermal, and structures teams.

The role requires a TS clearance and entails leading analyses, creating models and drawings, and guiding environmental tests, while mentoring junior engineers in a cross‑functional environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years designing electromechanical assemblies and avionics packaging.
• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• Strong 3D CAD skills (Creo/Pro-E).
• Solid GD&T and ASME Y14.5 understanding.
• Experience integrating PCBAs, connectors, and harnesses.
• Knowledge of ruggedized electronics design (thermal, EMI, vacuum).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Own complex avionics packaging assemblies across full lifecycle.
• Partner with electrical, systems, thermal, structures, and manufacturing.
• Lead thermal, structural, vibration, and fatigue analyses; conduct trade studies.
• Deliver high-quality models, drawings, docs, and release packages.
• Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 for manufacturability and inspection.
• Shape environmental test campaigns from planning to verification.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead design reviews.
• Adhere to security requirements and protect sensitive data.
