Blue Origin is seeking an Avionics Mechanical Design and Analysis Engineer III in Colorado to lead ruggedized packaging for spacecraft avionics, spanning requirements through production release. Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering; 5+ years in electromechanical design.
• Track record owning mechanical designs end-to-end (requirements through production).
• Strong 3D CAD skills (Creo/Pro-E) and GD&T knowledge.
• Experience integrating PCBAs, connectors, and cable/harness interfaces into mechanical assemblies.
• Experience running thermal and structural analyses for electronic packaging.
• Ability to juggle priorities and communicate risk across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own complex avionics packaging assemblies across full lifecycle from requirements to production support.
• Partner with electrical, systems, thermal, structures, manufacturing, quality, and test engineers to architect packaging solutions.
• Drive thermal, structural, vibration, shock, and fatigue analyses and lead trade studies balancing mass, EMC/EMI, manufacturability, cost, and risk.
• Deliver models, drawings, specs, ICDs, and configuration-controlled release packages per GD&T.
• Shape environmental test campaigns end-to-end including planning, prep, data review, and root-cause analysis.
• Mentor less-experienced engineers, lead design reviews, and engage suppliers through design changes.
