Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Avionics Mechanical Design & Analysis Engineer III to own ruggedized enclosures and mechanical systems from concept through flight release.

You’ll lead development of protective mechanical systems for spacecraft avionics, addressing thermal extremes, vibration, shock, radiation, EMI, and vacuum while influencing reliability and manufacturability. A TS clearance is required to start.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years designing electromechanical assemblies or avionics packaging.
• Active TS security clearance; SCI access preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own complex avionics packaging assemblies across the full lifecycle.
• Collaborate with electrical, systems, thermal, structures, and manufacturing teams.
• Lead thermal, structural, vibration, and fatigue analyses and trade studies.
• Deliver models, drawings, specs, and release packages with configuration control.
• Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to enable manufacturing and assembly.
• Shape environmental test campaigns end-to-end from planning to verification.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead design reviews.
