Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an Avionics Mechanical Design and Analysis Engineer III to own ruggedized enclosures and mechanical systems from concept through flight release. You will lead the development of protective mechanical systems for spacecraft avionics, shielding electronics from thermal extremes, vibration, shock, radiation, EMI, and vacuum.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years designing electromechanical assemblies, avionics packaging, or related aerospace hardware.
• Strong 3D CAD skills and GD&T knowledge for flight hardware.

Responsibilities

• Own complex avionics packaging assemblies across the full lifecycle (requirements to production).
• Collaborate across electrical, systems, thermal, structures, and manufacturing teams to architect integrated packaging solutions.
• Lead analyses (thermal, structural, vibration, fatigue) and trade studies balancing mass, performance, manufacturability and cost.
• Produce models, drawings, specs, ICDs, and configuration-controlled release packages.
• Shape environmental test campaigns end-to-end from planning to verification closeout.
• Mentor junior engineers and engage suppliers through design changes and CM.
