Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an Avionics Mechanical Design and Analysis Engineer III to own ruggedized enclosures and mechanical systems for spacecraft avionics. You will lead packaging development from concept through flight release, collaborating across electrical, systems, thermal, and structures teams to ensure reliability in harsh space environments.

The role requires a B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering with 5+ years of experience, strong Creo CAD and GD&T skills, and experience

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline; 5+ years designing electromechanical assemblies, avionics packaging, or comparable aerospace hardware.
• Track record owning mechanical designs across the full lifecycle — requirements through production support.
• Strong 3D CAD skills (Creo/Pro-E a plus) and GD&T/ASME Y14.5 drawing practices.

Responsibilities

• Own complex avionics packaging assemblies (enclosures, chassis, mounting systems) across the full lifecycle.
• Partner with electrical, systems, thermal, structures, manufacturing, quality, and test engineers to architect integrated packaging solutions.
• Drive thermal, structural, vibration, shock, and fatigue analyses and lead trade studies balancing mass, performance, EMI/EMC, manufacturability, and cost.
• Deliver models, drawings, specs, ICDs, and configuration-controlled releases with GD&T.
• Shape environmental test campaigns end-to-end from planning to verification closeout.
