Blue Origin in Seattle, WA is seeking an Avionics Hardware Engineer to develop, integrate, and test data acquisition systems for launch vehicles. You will participate in a rapid development environment and contribute to safe human spaceflight.

The role emphasizes sensor integration, signal conditioning, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high-reliability hardware across extreme environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in avionics systems design; aerospace experience preferred.
• Strong signal conditioning and AFE development experience.
• Familiarity with isolation design to protect sensor data.
• Experience with MIL-STD and SMC-S-016 environmental considerations.

Responsibilities

• Design system requirements for data acquisition used in vehicle health monitoring.
• Create and review schematics based on requirements and specs.
• Review PCB designs for signal integrity, thermal, and mechanical constraints.
• Perform benchmarking and performance analysis to guide design decisions.
• Collaborate with embedded software and network OS teams during integration.
• Develop robust systems for extreme environments meeting SMC-S-016 requirements.
• Incorporate DFM/DFA principles early in lifecycle to reduce manual work.
• Evaluate AI-enabled inspection to improve capacity and reduce bottlenecks.
• Support full development lifecycle from requirements to deployment and documentation.
• Lead LRU design validation ensuring sensor excitation stability and anti-aliasing.
