Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for our Cedar Rapids, IA Aftermarket Systems group. You will develop system-level requirements, design retrofit avionics solutions, and lead integration and verification activities across global flight operations.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers, support on-aircraft installations, and maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• STEM degree required with 5+ years of relevant experience; or advanced degree with 3+ years.

Responsibilities

• Develop system-level requirements from customer specs and market needs.
• Design solutions meeting future requirements and mandates.
• Perform analyses, architecture exploration, and trade studies across options.
• Create interface definitions and verify system behavior against requirements.
• Plan and execute verification and validation activities, including tests and data analysis.
• Identify risks and work with teams to mitigate schedule or technical issues.
• Support on-aircraft installation of avionics updates and ground/flight testing.
• Maintain configuration and documentation throughout the lifecycle.
