Job summary

Collins Aerospace, based in Cedar Rapids, IA, seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Integrated Flight Systems Product Line Engineering group. This role designs, integrates, tests, certifies, and sustains avionics systems on large business jets and air transport platforms, collaborating with cross‑functional teams in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years relevant experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Hands-on experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) at the system level is required.
• Strong understanding of Avionics, aircraft systems, and subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Design and Requirement Developments activities.
• On-site execution of requirements-based testing and robustness testing.
• Test script development and execution for scenario-based testing.
• Troubleshoot issues from development cycles and report to OEMs as needed.
• Coordinate SW/HW work packages and avionics features across subsystems.
• Produce PDR/CDR packages and system certification documents.
• Estimate and bid engineering efforts and report program status.
