Job summary

AVI-SPL, Inc. is seeking a Senior Design Engineer in Tampa to translate client needs into actionable AV system designs and precise documentation. You will partner with account managers to refine requirements, assess risks, and communicate with stakeholders.

You will lead complex AV design projects, ensuring feasible, customer-aligned solutions while mentoring junior engineers and shaping design standards across the team. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in AV system design and project documentation.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Strong communication with clients, project managers, and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of AV systems and create comprehensive design packages.
• Develop BOMs, block diagrams, infrastructure plans, and scopes of work.
• Support pre-sales with labor estimates and material requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors, architects, consultants, and contractors on designs.
• Review designs from junior engineers and ensure adherence to best practices.
