Job summary

AVI-SPL is seeking a Senior Design Engineer in Tampa, FL, to transform client requirements into robust AV system designs and detailed documentation. You will collaborate with sales and Account Managers to capture needs, assess risks, and communicate with stakeholders.

This role leads complex design projects, mentors junior engineers, and drives design standards while balancing customer expectations with technical and business goals. On-site collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer needs into actionable AV system designs and documentation.
• Create detailed system documentation, BOMs, diagrams, and scopes of work.
• Provide labor estimates and material requirements for proposals.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on design quality and standards.
• Collaborate with vendors, architects, and contractors to align designs with constraints.
• Serve as design authority during project execution and reviews.
