Job summary

AVI-SPL is seeking a Design Engineer to translate customer needs into actionable AV system designs and detailed documentation. You will collaborate with the sales team, including Account Managers, to capture requirements, assess risks, and communicate with stakeholders.

You will present solutions, create comprehensive design packages, and ensure the project team has the details needed for successful execution. This role emphasizes ownership, accuracy, and collaboration across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Sales Design and Proposal Efforts.
• Collaborate with Account Managers to translate requirements into system designs.
• Explain design concepts to clients and demonstrate how proposed systems meet needs.
• Provide labor estimates and material requirements for sales proposals.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive design standards for large accounts.
• Create detailed system documentation: BOMs, block diagrams, infrastructure plans, and scopes of work.
• Determine infrastructure needs (power, data, conduit) and coordinate with contractors.
• Assess risks and site conditions for design feasibility.
• Review pre-construction docs for clarity and alignment with objectives.
• Coordinate with vendors, architects, consultants, and contractors during design development.
• Support project teams during implementation as the design authority.
• Handle additional tasks to adapt to evolving priorities.
