Job summary

AVI-SPL is seeking a Design Engineer to transform customer needs into actionable AV system designs and detailed documentation. You will work with sales to understand requirements, identify risks, and communicate with stakeholders, ensuring designs meet client needs.

The role involves creating comprehensive design packages, providing labor/material estimates, and supporting project execution. Travel to client sites may be required as part of design development and coordination.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent minimum.
• Strong problem-solving skills with risk assessment ability.
• Customer-focused with ability to communicate with stakeholders.
• Experience in cross-functional teams including sales and project managers.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Two or more relevant audio/DSP certifications.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Sales design and proposal efforts.
• Collaborate with Account Managers to translate requirements into design.
• Explain design concepts to clients and demonstrate system meet.
• Provide labor estimates and material requirements for proposals.
• Develop and maintain design standards packages.
• Create detailed system documentation including BOMs and diagrams.
• Determine infrastructure needs and coordinate with contractors.
• Assess risks and site conditions affecting design.
• Coordinate with vendors and consultants to align designs.
