Job summary

Pep Boys in Lexington, SC is seeking a qualified Automotive Technician. You will diagnose drivability and electrical systems, mentor teammates, and deliver superior customer service by educating customers on repairs.

The role requires 3+ years of experience, ASE certifications, and a valid driver's license. A proactive, customer-focused attitude and the ability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5, plus 2 from A1/A6/A7/A8/L1).
• 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, and HVAC systems.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers.
• Educate customers on problems and proposed solutions.
• Mentor teammates and drive team to deliver service.
• Maintain organized, clean shop and adhere to policies.
• Assist others with technical activities.
• Notify management of repair issues as they occur.
• Keep up with new automotive tech via training.
