Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack LLC is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems and to lead a service team. You will interact directly with customers, explain issues, and recommend repairs to raise customer satisfaction and trust.

Preferred candidates have 3+ years of diagnostic/repair experience, ASE certifications, a Section 609 card, and a valid driver's license. The role expects flexibility for days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of automotive diagnostic, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred: A4 Steering & Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from A1, A6, A7, A8, L1.
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to work days/evenings/weekends.
• Pre-employment background check required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake, suspension, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and employees clearly.
• Lead and mentor a shop team to improve customer care and efficiency.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques through formal training.
• Maintain an organized, safe shop and adhere to policy guidelines.
• Support colleagues and notify management of repair issues as they arise.
