Job summary

Amazon in Pflugerville, TX seeks a Senior Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and support in-plant performance. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent.
• 4+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience.
• 4+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
• 4+ years of Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Codesys ladder logic and structure programming experience.
• 4+ years of electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Apply SME on troubleshooting and dive deep for engineering issues; support automation engineers to investigate root cause and plan actions to eliminate downtime of critical assets.
• Collaborate with Operations, FC Start-up Team, AFT Software teams, ACES team, and Safety to optimize MHE systems and implement projects.
• Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus).
• Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/operations to address performance issues and analyze across operations.
• Provide escalation support during and after hours to ensure hardware or controls software are repaired on time.
• Move up to 49lbs, stand/walk up to 12 hours, climb ladders, and perform bending, lifting, and reaching as needed.
