Job summary
Amazon in Gainesville, VA is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and operational performance in fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex control systems, mentor junior engineers, and lead cross-functional teams to optimize MHE systems including conveyors, sortation, scanners and SCADA devices.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in automation/electrical/computer science or equivalent or 4+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience.
- 4+ years of PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience.
- 4+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
Responsibilities
- Apply SME on troubleshooting and dive deeps for engineering issues, supporting automation engineers to investigate root cause and planning actions to eliminate downtime.
- Collaborate with Operations, FC Start-up Team, Software teams, and Safety to optimize MHE systems and implement projects.
- Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks.
- Monitor MHE metrics and analyze system performance with Maintenance/Operations.
- Provide escalation support during/after business hours to repair hardware or controls software.
