Job summary

Amazon is hiring an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and optimize material handling equipment in our fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex control systems, analyze performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

You will work with state-of-the-art technology, including conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, and SCADA devices, ensuring fast, accurate order fulfillment and top-tier service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 2+ years of PLC‑level automation experience.
• Experience with PLC programming and automation controls.
• Familiarity with HMI, control networks, and motor control components.

Responsibilities

• Maintain automation systems critical to operations.
• Troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus).
• Monitor MHE metrics and address performance issues with maintenance/operations.
• Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians.
• Perform and analyze System Assessments to enhance material handling performance.
