Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in Salt Lake City seeks a Senior Automation Engineer to join our growing Energy and Resources Team.

You will apply instrumentation and controls expertise to design, specify, and engineer system solutions for projects across mining, oil & gas, power, and renewable energy sectors. The role involves leading design deliverables, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, participating in HAZOP, and interfacing with clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Instrumentation or related field.
• PE license preferred; ability to obtain with commitment.
• 10+ years of engineering, design and construction experience in heavy industry sectors.

Responsibilities

• Develop instrumentation and control deliverables including datasheets and IO wiring.
• Lead design reviews, P&ID input, and 3D constructability reviews.
• Participate in HAZOP and process safety assessments.
• Manage project scope, budget, staffing and schedule.
• Client-facing responsibilities including meetings and remote collaboration.
• Travel up to ~10% to client sites or other offices.
