Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a Senior Automation and Controls Engineer to develop, configure, test, and commission control software for nuclear fuel manufacturing facilities. The role covers PLC/DCS programming, SCADA/HMI development, ISA-88 batch control, alarm management, safety logic, historian configuration, and ISA-95 enterprise integration.

You will work with Rockwell, Siemens, and Emerson platforms; implement OPC-UA, build dashboards, and write SQL/Python for tests and reporting, while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer, or Systems Engineering.
• 3–7 years of controls software, PLC programming, or SCADA development experience in process industries.
• Hands‑on PLC programming experience with major platforms using IEC 61131-3 languages.
• Hands‑on SCADA development on major platforms (Ignition, FactoryTalk, AVEVA, WinCC).
• Experience designing HMI displays to ISA-101 or HPHMI.
• Experience developing ISA-88 batch control sequences.
• Experience configuring ISA-18.2 alarm management.
• Experience configuring plant historian systems and dashboards.
• Familiarity with ISA-95 enterprise‑control integration concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PLC/DCS programs using major platforms.
• Configure SCADA applications and tag databases; ensure redundancy.
• Design HMI displays and interfaces per ISA-101/HPHMI.
• Develop batch control software per ISA‑88 and supervise batch execution.
• Configure alarm systems per ISA-18.2; optimize KPI reporting.
• Implement safety logic per IEC 61511; test and validate.
• Configure historian systems and build data dashboards.
• Integrate control with MES/ERP/LIMS via REST APIs.
• Develop data interfaces and perform testing automation.
