Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer for our Government Services Division in the United States. The role involves working on PLC-based control systems, Safety Instrumented Systems, and related automation platforms as part of a multi-discipline project team.

A hybrid work arrangement is available, with travel to client sites as needed. Required are 10+ years of experience, a BS in engineering from an ABET-accredited program (MS preferred), and the ability to

Qualifications

Must be a U.S. Citizen; dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
10+ years of experience in instrumentation and controls or automation and control systems engineering.
BS in engineering from an ABET-accredited program; MS degree preferred.
Ability to obtain US Government security clearance.
Interface with craft for troubleshooting and problem solving.
Experience designing, programming, documenting, and testing automated machinery or processes at industrial facilities.
Industrial communication design (Ethernet IP preferred; Modbus/Profibus a plus).
Producing P&IDs, Control System Narratives, I/O Lists, CAE/CE diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, FATs, and O&M docs.

Responsibilities

Work on project teams designing PLC-based control systems and SIS for industrial facilities.
Prepare specifications and design media for procurement and implementation of systems.
Expand knowledge through training sessions and the Automation Lab.
Contribute to peer learning via Communities of Practice.
Travel to client offices and project sites as required.
