Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a seasoned Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team in supporting government services projects. The role focuses on PLC-based control systems, SIS, and industrial platforms across facilities.

You will design, document, test, and implement automation solutions while collaborating with peers and mentors in our Automation Lab. A strong background in ABET-accredited engineering and Rockwell tools is required.

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship required; dual citizenship not eligible.
ABET-accredited BS in engineering required; MS preferred.
7+ years in instrumentation/controls or automation engineering.
Experience designing, programming, documenting, and testing automated machinery or processes.
Industrial communication design experience (Ethernet IP preferred; Modbus/Profibus a plus).
Experience producing P&IDs, Control System Narratives, I/O Lists, and related documentation.

Responsibilities

Work on PLC-based control systems, SIS, and other industrial platforms in project teams.
Prepare specs and design media for procurement and implementation of software and instrumentation.
Engage in training and mentoring via Automation Lab and Communities of Practice.
Develop career growth through peer learning and internal networks.
Travel to client offices and project sites as required.
