Job summary
Sargent & Lundy seeks an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Engineer in Knoxville for a hybrid role combining home and office work. You will work on PLC-based control systems, SIS, and other industrial platforms within a multi-discipline project team, designing specifications and documenting systems.
Essentially, you will mentor peers, participate in the Automation Lab, and travel to client sites as needed.
Qualifications
- Requires ABET-accredited BS in engineering; MS preferred.
- Ability to obtain US government security clearance.
- Experience with instrumentation & controls or automation at industrial facilities.
- Ability to design, program, document, test automated machinery or processes.
Responsibilities
- Work on PLC-based control systems and SIS for industrial facilities.
- Prepare specifications and design media for procurement/implementation.
- Mentor others via training sessions and Automation Lab.
- Develop career through Communities of Practice and peer learning.
- Travel to client offices and project sites as required.
