Job summary

Sargent & Lundy offers a hybrid work arrangement combining work from home and in-office activity for this Instrumentation and Controls Engineering role. The team works on PLC-based control systems, SIS, and other industrial control platforms to design, program, document, and test automation solutions.

The position emphasizes growing expertise through the Automation Lab, peer learning, and participation in Communities of Practice, with travel to client sites as needed for project work.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
• BS degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program; MS degree preferred.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in instrumentation and controls or automation and control systems engineering.
• Experience designing, programming, documenting, and testing automated machinery or processes at industrial facilities.
• Familiarity with Ethernet IP; knowledge of Modbus and Profibus is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work on project teams with other discipline engineers designing PLC-based control systems and SIS.
• Prepare specifications and design media for procurement and implementation of software, instrumentation, and control system platforms.
• Engage in mentoring and training in the Automation Lab to grow Automation/Control Systems skills.
• Develop expertise through Communities of Practice and peer learning.
• Travel to client offices and project sites as required.
