Gerber Collision & Glass in Skokie, IL is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver an exceptional customer experience through precise assessment and repair of vehicles to pre-accident condition. You will disassemble, repair, reassemble, realign chassis, replace parts, and refinish with professional paint to meet standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
• Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
• Thorough understanding of repair methods and tools used in auto body work.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of the WOW plan.
• Plan repair work and prepare customer cost estimates; use tools to repair vehicle sections.
• Hammers out dents, applies filler resins when needed.
• Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Remove damaged sections and replace with new/aftermarket parts; repair glass and interiors.
• Weld, fit parts, and repaint vehicles to factory or approved finishes.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
