Gerber Collision & Glass in Des Plaines, IL is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver an exceptional customer experience through precise assessment and high-quality repairs, restoring vehicles to pre-accident condition. You will teardown, repair, and reassemble vehicles while upholding the brand promise of speed, quality, and customer excellence.

The role requires collaborating with teammates, analyzing repair plans, and applying factory-grade paint and finish while meeting KPI targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair.
• Ability to read job orders and work with little supervision.
• Understanding of repair methods and using shop tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute WOW plan consistently to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates, and use tools to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Hammer out dents, apply filler resins when needed, realign chassis, and replace parts.
• Weld, fit parts, and repaint vehicles to factory standards or approved equivalents.
• Ensure work orders are completed within labor time guidelines and inspect for quality.
