Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Oak Lawn seeks an Auto Body Technician to deliver exceptional customer experiences through meticulous vehicle repair. You will disassemble, repair, reassemble, and restore vehicles to pre-accident condition, working with the team to hit KPIs and uphold the brand promise of speed and quality.

The role requires a high school diploma or technical training, strong repair knowledge, and the ability to use common auto body tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a technical program or a 3-year apprenticeship preferred.
• Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of auto body repair methods and tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute WOW plan consistently in daily tasks.
• Plan repair work and prepare customer cost estimates.
• Repair vehicle bodies using cutting guns, plasma cutters and hand tools.
• Hammer out dents and apply filler resins where needed.
• Realign chassis and replace damaged sections with parts.
• Replace glass, interior parts and repaint vehicles as required.
• Weld, fit parts and ensure work meets labor time guidelines.
• Inspect completed work for quality and completeness.
