Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking a Senior Auditor to provide auditing and accounting support for fraud investigations involving complex financial transactions and organizations. The role will develop guidelines, review accounting systems, and collaborate cross-functionally with attorneys and investigators.

The candidate should have an undergraduate degree, CPA, MBA or equivalent, and at least five years of auditing experience, with three in relevant subject areas such as Medicare or DoD systems.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree minimum; CPA/MBA equivalent.
• Must be a Certified Public Accountant.
• MBA or equivalent in accounting or directly related field.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and GAAS.
• Minimum of five years’ experience as an auditor; three years in Medicare/DoD contexts.
• Extensive working knowledge of ADP systems and applications.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be a United States citizen; able to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial analysis by reviewing bank records, wire transfers, ledgers, and other financial documentation.
• Open-source intelligence and database research on individuals, entities, and assets.
• Analyze healthcare claims datasets to identify fraud, waste, and abuse patterns.
• Design and run SQL queries, models, and data algorithms to detect anomalous billing trends.
• Extract and manipulate CMS data using OnePI, STARS, Business Objects.
• Prepare analytical summaries, memoranda, charts, and data visualizations for case development.
• Summarize transaction histories and flag suspicious activities for follow-up.
• Evaluate fraud allegations and provide recommendations to assistant attorneys.
• Develop investigative plans and identify areas of focus.
• Collaborate with attorneys to refine leads and strategies.
• Deliver oral briefings and written reports on healthcare data analytics.
• Support development of internal best practices for healthcare fraud detection.
