Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking a mid-level Auditor to perform general auditing and accounting services supporting fraud investigations involving complex financial transactions and organizations. The role emphasizes developing audit guidelines, cross-functional communication, and proficiency across accounting systems.

Qualifications

• Four-year undergraduate degree or higher in statistical/data analysis, finance, accounting, fraud examination, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional work experience in finance, accounting, fraud examination or statistical/data analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain adjudication for the requisite background investigation.
• Experience reviewing medical records and knowledge of medical billing procedures (preferred: STARS or Business Objects).
• Experience with a federal or state legal or law enforcement entity (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Audit a variety of accounting systems.
• Organize and present large volumes of data (bank records, financial records, healthcare claims, tax records, etc.).
• Assist with investigation planning, including quantitative and qualitative analyses to identify witnesses and relevant documents.
• Prepare concise and accurate reports of results, including charts, summaries and schedules.
• Confer with representatives of financial institutions, CPAs, and witnesses during investigations.
• Use electronic databases to identify assets, documents, and evidence.
• Analyze ability to pay penalties based on disclosures and assets/liabilities.
• Draft technical audit guidelines and instructions for financial audits and investigations.
• Prepare interim and final reports for staff use.
• Arrange secure storage and indexing of documentary evidence.
• Create charts, graphs, and AV materials for motions and at trial.
• Meet with designated federal agency personnel as needed during investigations.
