Job summary

Maher Duessel is seeking Senior Auditors to join our firm in State College. Senior Auditors can perform most engagements with little supervision and direct and review staff auditors.

They are trusted to make decisions on accounting, tax, and auditing matters while guiding the audit team. Successful candidates will enjoy a balanced work-life with a hybrid schedule, travel as needed, and the opportunity to work with governmental and non-profit clients.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting and/or CPA eligibility.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting.
• CPA strongly preferred; government and non-profit audit experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop people by delegating tasks and guiding staff.
• Provide performance feedback and evaluations for staff.
• Foster an efficient, team-oriented work environment.
• Direct fieldwork daily and coordinate audit phases.
• Maintain client relationships and assess client satisfaction.
• Identify operational improvements and risks; communicate with supervisors.
• Review staff workpapers for compliance with standards.
• Develop public speaking and presentation skills.
• Manage overtime and assist the audit team to meet deadlines.
• Pursue progress toward CPA exam.

Education

Accounting degree / CPA eligibility
