Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting and/or sufficient coursework to become licensed as a CPA
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting
• Government and non-profit audit experience preferred
• CPA strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel/Word/Outlook)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines
• Dedication to teamwork, leadership, and client service
• Ability to supervise, train, and develop staff
• Integrity within the professional environment
• Adaptability to work schedule and travel as needed

Responsibilities

• Develop people through delegating tasks and guiding staff
• Provide performance feedback and training, and complete evaluations
• Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment
• Use technology to learn, enhance service delivery, and improve efficiency
• Direct fieldwork daily; inform supervisors of engagement status; plan and supervise audit phases
• Maintain strong client relationships and monitor client satisfaction
• Adapt the audit approach to the client environment
• Understand complex accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations
• Prepare client financial statements and meet deadlines
• Identify operational improvements for clients
• Identify risks to be escalated to supervisors
• Begin reviewing staff workpapers for compliance
• Develop public speaking and presentation skills
• Manage overtime effectively with the team
• Work toward passing the CPA exam
