Job summary

Maher Duessel is seeking Senior Auditors to join our firm. Senior Auditors can perform engagements with minimal supervision and guide staff auditors. They’ll review work and make decisions on accounting, tax, and auditing matters, presenting complex issues to engagement management as needed.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting and/or sufficient coursework to qualify to become licensed as a CPA
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting
• Government and non-profit audit experience preferred
• CPA strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines
• Teamwork, leadership, and client service dedication
• Ability to supervise, train, and develop staff
• Integrity within the professional environment
• Ability to travel and work hours beyond standard as needed
• Reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Develop people through delegating tasks and guiding staff
• Provide performance feedback and trainings, and complete evaluations
• Foster a productive, innovative team environment
• Use technology to enhance service delivery and efficiency
• Direct fieldwork daily and supervise audit engagements
• Maintain strong client relationships and monitor client satisfaction
• Adapt audit approach to client environment
• Apply complex accounting/auditing concepts to client situations
• Understand client financial reporting requirements and prepare statements
• Identify operational improvements for clients
• Identify risks to bring to audit leadership
• Begin reviewing staff workpapers for compliance
• Develop public speaking and presentation skills
• Manage overtime effectively with audit team support
• Work toward passing the CPA exam
