Job summary

Berkeley Research Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Associate to join the Forensic, Technology, Investigations & Discovery practice. You will collaborate on complex financial disputes, including fraud investigations, lost profits, and economic damages analyses to support expert opinions for litigation and regulatory proceedings.

The role emphasizes rigorous analysis, clear documentation, and communication with attorneys and technical/nontechnical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline is required.
• A master’s degree in accounting or completion of a combined bachelor’s/master’s program is preferred.
• A CPA designation or progress toward CPA licensure is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements, ledgers, tax returns, and data to identify relevant activity and potential issues.
• Trace transactions, identify fund flows, and reconcile records for investigations of fraud or misstatement.
• Research GAAP and assess treatment consistency with standards and underlying evidence.
• Support post-closing M&A disputes including working capital adjustments and earn-outs.
• Develop financial models for lost profits, business interruption and economic damages analyses.
• Assist in drafting expert reports and preparing exhibits for hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Review opposing methodologies and ensure analyses are well-supported and reproducible.
