Berkeley Research Group, LLC (BRG) is seeking aSenior Associate in Emeryville, CA to support complex forensic accounting engagements, commercial damages analyses, and expert reports for litigation and regulatory matters.

The ideal candidate will have accounting/finance background, CPA progression, GAAP proficiency, and strong analytical and communication skills to explain technical concepts to nontechnical audiences while maintaining rigorous, reproducible workpapers.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; master’s or combined program preferred.
• 2–4 years public accounting, forensic accounting, or related advisory experience.
• CPA designation or progress toward licensure strongly preferred.
• Strong foundation in GAAP, financial statement analysis, and accounting processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to explain complex financial issues clearly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; good written and verbal communication.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze financial statements, ledgers, tax returns, and data to identify issues and inconsistencies.
• Trace transactions and reconcile records to support investigations and disputes.
• Research GAAP applicability and evaluate treatments against standards.
• Develop financial models for lost profits and economic damages analyses, including DCF as needed.
• Assess historical performance, forecasts, and reasonableness of projections.
• Draft expert report sections and prepare exhibits connecting evidence to conclusions.
• Support depositions, hearings, and regulatory proceedings with robust, reproducible workpapers.
• Examine intercompany and related-party transactions to support alter-ego analyses without making legal determinations.
• Maintain organized, reproducible workpapers with clear source references.
• Review others’ work for accuracy and alignment with evidence.
• Communicate findings to engagement teams and contribute to client discussions.
• Collaborate across engagements, manage priorities, and meet deadlines with confidentiality.
• Travel as required by engagements.
