Job summary

BRG’s Forensic, Technology, Investigations & Discovery practice seeks a Senior Associate to support complex financial disputes and investigations from Houston, Chicago, or New York City offices. You will work with engagement professionals on forensic accounting, business valuation, lost profits, and economic damages analyses to support expert opinions in litigation and regulatory proceedings.

Engagements include fraud allegations, GAAP discussions, and post-closing disputes.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline is required.
• A master’s degree or combined bachelor’s/master’s program is preferred.
• Two to four years of relevant public accounting, audit, forensic accounting, valuation, or related advisory experience.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA licensure is preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial statement analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements, ledgers, tax returns, and data to identify financial activity and potential issues.
• Trace transactions, reconcile records, and support investigations of fraud and misstatements.
• Research GAAP standards and evaluate treatments for consistency with standards.
• Support post-closing disputes, earn-outs, and misstatements with relevant agreements and records.
• Develop financial models for lost profits, business interruption, and economic damages.
• Prepare expert reports, exhibits, and schedules to support conclusions in litigation.
